
Ambassador Akbar M Khaleeli, IFS(Retd)
Amb Akbar Mirza Khaleeli has a B.A. degree in Economics and LL.B from University of Madras. He served in the Indian Foreign Service from 1959 to 1994. During his postings in the Ministry of External Affairs he has held various posts including Director West Asia and North Africa, Joint Secretary Haj, and Chief of Protocol. Ambassador Khaleeli has served as in Indian Diplomatic Missions as Third Secretary in Baghdad; Second Secretary Colombo, and First Secretary Paris; and Charge d”affaires Jordan.
Ambassador Khaleeli has been Indian Ambassador in Iran, and Italy. He has been High Commissioner to Australia with Concurrent Accreditation to Vanuatu and Solomon Islands. Ambassador Khaleeli has been Representative of India to Food and Agricultural Organisation , Rome.
