India has long-standing border disputes with the northern neighbour China. The rivalry between two nuclear-armed countries which are both regional powers is also seen as a global flashpoint. The recent attack with stones and clubs by the Chinese Army at the border in the Galwan Valley in the Ladakh region of India has once again highlighted the tensions.
